Skateboarding Brand Goes Formal

Even though there are still a few days until summer is officially here, it’s never too early to start looking at kicks for the fall and winter. Vans, usually known for their skateboarding shoes, are releasing this slimmer-looking Vans OTW Alcon silhouette for any guy to wear.

Rare Find From Amsterdam

Quickly becoming one of my favorite sneaker brands, Filling Pieces, recently released their Spring/Summer 2012 lineup in the US and proves that they have no plans on slowing down.

This release features low- and mid-top sneakers in different styles including some Aztec-inspired kicks and a pair of brogues. These sneakers are in the midpoint of streetwear and formalwear (you could easily dress them up or down) and are constructed from the most premium materials.

Classics For Summer

Getting ready for hot summer days means switching to a pair of kicks made out of breathable and lightweight material that will keep your feet nice and dry. Lucky for you, the guys at Converse just announced their latest collaboration with Undefeated in the form of a Jack Purcell Summer 2012 collection.

Undefeated has made very small alterations to this classic, including: summer appropriate terrycloth inner lining and foot bed, burgundy and blue racing stripes on the sole, and a small logo on the heel.

Keeping It Light For The Warmer Weather

Nike Sportswear’s latest release for the Spring/Summer 2012 comes in the form of Toki Mids. These chukka-style sneakers sport pastel colored suede uppers with tonal laces and a bright white vulcanized rubber sole.

Pastel colors are sort of a thing this year and these sneakers will let you be trendy without looking like an Easter egg. It’s also a shoe that probably looks better as you wear them out.

These are scheduled to come out in the next couple of weeks at select Nike retailers.

The Rolls Royce of Sneakers

Common Projects is known for their premium sneaker-dress shoe hybrids. They are the epitome of subtle elegance and meticulous construction. Their most recent creation is the Rec Shoe, their take on a chukka boot.

They made this a low-top shoe, using premium brown (pictured below) and black Italian nappa leather. A plain off-white rubber sole is hand-sewn (makes it more durable) to the upper and the trademark gold lettering around the heel finish off the shoe.
